Those are some true words. I even waited until I was past 40 to have children, thinking that the added maturity and if I'm honest, extra allotted time for self-indulgence, would mean I was ready. My wife and I did pre-birth classes, read books, watched videos, and thought we'd checked all the boxes.
The long and short answer is, parenthood is the most challenging thing either of us ever thought we would do, and neither of us were ready.
