This sounds awesome man!! Great read, and thank you! I actually think it's worth a follow-up article with the metrics of your trip. As a (former) cyclist (I'll explain more in a minute), I wonder- man, how many flats did this guy get? How many hours did he ride on average per day? How far was the ride in total? Did he ride with a support vehicle or trailer? On that note in particular, I actually think that would make it a lot safer (and more expensive obviously), but it might fund itself because I'm sure if it were an event, others might be inclined to sign up and do the same. On the other hand that might take away from some of your individual freedom to enjoy it without being responsible for permits, making schedules, other humans, etc.

Onto why I don't ride anymore. The main reason I don't ride anymore is the last time I rode in the Hotter Than Hell 100 in Texas, I was scarily numb in places that a gentleman would prefer not to be numb for a week afterwards, and that was with a cushy seat. I can't imagine how sore one would become after riding a couple thousand miles.

At any rate, hats off to you again man.
