Thank you for the tip! I actually already have that unchecked, and still see "unfamiliar" window behaviour where I'm looking for Windows. I'm thinking if there was an app or means to show a list of all running applications (or maybe windows?), the application would allow me to switch to that application, whichever space it was running in.
