Pretty awesome read; thank you! It's such a nice touch that they're hand-written, too; it deepens the connection. As I read her writing and as a person who's always been fascinated by the passage of time, I think to myself, "Wow, what was life like for her back then? What challenges was she facing on an everyday basis?"
Much of my Grandmother's cooking would unfortunately go straight to my already challenged arteries now, but man I sure do miss the unimitable flavor of her green beans and neckbones (where you sucked every bit of meat you could from that neckbone) and sweet cornbread. Here's to sweet memories and milestones in our life journeys.
