I've said this elsewhere but it's worth repeating.

I’ve always loved meeting and communicating with people from other cultures, and don’t see that ever changing. I was reminded with that young man’s insensitivity how we should treat immigrants.

I've said this elsewhere but it's worth repeating. A person who is making their way through another language and probably has an accent does not think with an accent.
