It was a wretched film, not the least of which because the producers were too greedy and instead of paying Crispin Glover, dressed up some dude in prosthetics to "look like" Crispin Glover, and tried to hide it by using bizarre camera angles and juvenile plot devices to explain why you never got a good look at him. Hollywood so loves to cash in on an idea more than once, and so often fails. See "Back to the Future Part II", "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", etc.
