It isn't just men. People are attracted to youth. When I was 18 I briefly dated a woman who was 34 (or maybe 36?) at the time (Robin, wherever you are, if you're reading this now, I apologize for forgetting your age). Some may call it robbing the cradle, but honestly, what I saw in her was she was classy, sophisticated, we had fabulous conversation and got along great, and our mutual biological needs aligned extremely well. She was "cool" which for me at the time was a dramatic departure from the on and off relationship I had been having with the woman who was born just a month from me. Ultimately it ended because the "on/off again" girlfriend suddenly became a lot more possessive of me when she realized that I could date other people too.

I'm over 50 now, but I don't regret any aspect of that relationship, nor do I felt like either of us did anything wrong. I learned a lot, got to spend time with a lady and made endearing memories that I look fondly upon to this day.
