I remember feeling similarly when I watched videos of angry Americans shouting, "We need to take our country back" after President Obama was elected. I remember thinking, "Wait, all this time you've been telling everyone: 'Anyone who is smart, works and studies hard, goes to the best schools, and wins the election fairly can be president', and the first time a person who's not completely white goes and does that Americans have a conniption?"

It's disheartening.
