Circa 1994, I was once on a flight from Lisbon, Portugal to New York with James Worthy and his personal assistant. We were all in first class (company dime, not mine), and he was so gracious that he offered to help a lady with her luggage off the plane.

While we were waiting for our luggage, I was chatting with them a bit; very cool and down-to-Earth guys. I had also attended college in North Carolina, so there was that we had in common. The assistant even gave me his card and told me to look them up if I was ever in Los Angeles. I never did that, but they were both very cool.

Most fascinating was that while I was speaking with them, several other folks came up to them and were pretty pushy for autographs, we just all patiently smiled and he didn't get the least bit upset.
