An Odd Difference I’ve Noticed Between Women and Men

Let me preface this by saying I have no explanation for this or even a hypothesis as to why, but I have observed it with multiple friends over the course of my adult life (and strangely it also happens to be true for my wife as well).

For some reason, women do not like or trust the automatic temperature controls in cars (or other places). I’m the kind of person that sets the temperature to where I know it’s comfortable and let the car do its thing. Depending on the effectiveness of the HVAC system, I might have to adjust that temperature slightly per season, but generally speaking, it’s going to more or less stay a certain temperature.

My last vehicle, a Hyundai Genesis, was perfect at or about 73F degrees. It didn’t matter how hot or humid it got in Texas, I could set the temperature to 73F degrees and the car was cool within a few minutes of driving. The car’s external thermometer could register 115F degrees if the car had been sitting in the sun all day, but a couple of miles later it was cool and comfortable. The car would automatically turn the blower on max once the AC reached a nominal operating temperature and would subsequently back-off once it cooled down a bit. So what is the thinking about circumventing this process?

My current vehicle is a modest Genesis G70 and doesn’t have quite as awesome an AC, so the “magic” temperature is around 69 or 70, but I rarely have to manually adjust things.
