A Little Fantasy is Alright Once in a While, Right?

I found myself watching the 2015 live-action movie Cinderella (starring Lily James and Richard Madden) with one of my daughters, and despite having seen it at least a dozen times and despite my almost knowing the lines from the movie, I still find it a delightfully enchanting escape into a beautiful world that I know doesn’t exist, but it’s fun to visit anyway.

It’s a throwback movie that pays homage to much simpler stories with much more predictable endings, and there is a good-old-fashioned love-story in there too. At one point, Lily James is dancing with Richard Madden, and Lilly James remarks:

“Everyone is looking at you.” And he smiles and responds:

“Believe me, everyone is looking at you.”

Yeah I know I’m an over-50 father of four, but that line gets me every. Single. Time.
